The 1st movement of Mendelssohn's Octet transcribed for full orchestra by Yoon Jae Lee. This transcription was done in 2009 to honor the composer's 200th anniversary.

  • @mrbrianmccarthy if the balance was off they would have fallen over and the they couldnt have played for 14 miniutes

  • @CLASSICAListheWAY The balance is a little off,but I think this Octet benefits from the orchestration.You can hear all those different voices Felix wrote more clearly because of the contrasting sounds that the woodwinds add to the mix.

  • If I'd never heard the octet before, I'd love this. But alas, I have, and nothing can compare to the original. This is still quite nice though.
