Gene Rayburn once snarked, "Television network executives are verrrrry smart men," when questioning how a show can build a following if it keeps getting moves to different times with no advance notice or publicity. Rayburn was proven right and they were wrong when they chose Drew Carey over this guy Doug, who did a pilot to replace Bob Barker.
Score/Edd Kalehoff did use a new music package for this show. Some of this music started appearing on the Barker version, along with a little music from the revamped Feud music for the 1994-95 season of Feud, in 1996.
I remember watching this version every day as a kid. I loved it then, and I love watching it now. Doug was a spectacular host, and that jazzy theme song was top-notch.
Thanks for giving us this. While I always loved the daytime version, I thought this version was underrated. Bob always did a good job hosting, and Drew does well too. Doug was a nice fit as well.
oh please the real nightime host was dennis james tom kenady wasnt too bad either they ran circles around the young and the restless yutz

I'd love to see this back in reruns someday.

I actually liked this version growing up. Doug did pretty well as host, but I think the lack of bidding might've hurt things...
