4/12/09 What an awesome bday gift to have my first performance at the Hollywood Bowl be the Peace Song with the International Children's Peace choir & a mass combined choir of different faiths. The doves are released at the end of the song which closes the 88th annual Easter Sunrise Service. The annual service is put on by the beautiful Norma Foster, founder of the New Hope Foundation Film & Art Institute for inner-city youth, who had a stroke just days before Easter. We're all praying for her speedy recovery.
My husband, who shot the footage from up in the bleacher seats, and I were really touched by the hundreds of volunteers that make this Easter service possible for free to the general public, not to mention, the tireless hours that Norma Foster puts in each year.
They'd certainly appreciate your contributions if you feel called to support this annual Easter celebration that brings together different faiths: http://www.hollywoodbowleaster.com/
p.s. the super high note at the end is the gorgeous opera star, Brenda Jackson :)
Very sweet and heart felt!

Had so much wanted to go to this but couldn't make it, so what a joy to experience it here ~ the all-pervading spirit shone through despite the difficulties w/ getting a good sound quality in that huge gathering....
