Taiji Fan

I learned this form living in Taiwan many moons ago, my teachers teach styles just a bit different than Mainland. So if my form is not standard, well who cares, I enjoy the rooting verses fluffy... I use Johnny Cash as background musac, because I am so tired of the fan music.

Back then it was for warmup, you played taiji fan, 24 form, 37 form, 108, roushou and taiji dancing... Back then I didn't realize that Taiji dancing was good, I saw it as, well dancing to say the least.

Really it was and is good for relaxed moving the joints but not empty, as all Taiji should be, full and connected, soft and hard and yadda yadda...

Well to say the least I want to show there is a connected soft side to what I do....

i really like it my weapon of choice is the metal fan the grils here choose it because its pretty but they just open and close it! its real hard for me to make my own form my insructer plays favs!(im not one!) so i have to teach myself!

thanks for posting! great to see a guy doing fan and tho i love the jackie chan fan music it gets tiring after the 14,000th time you hear it :) i liked the JC choice too. thanks also for sharing about your experience in taiwan.

don't know anything about taiji, but i can tell theres is a lot of tension in your legs. I'm learning how to sink to the ground myself so its obvious.
