These Kids are Beasts!

A short video showing the typical classroom behavior of a group of young Tibetan kids. I volunteered to teach this bunch in a small village in Qinghai during Spring Festival break in early 2008. It's really just the boys who are beasts, as the girls mostly sit shyly in their seats. Even when a Tibetan adult starts to yell at them in the end, their behavior barely changes.

Believe me, these kids were just bad all the time... not only for one minute, and not like any other children I've ever seen in the US or China. How is that racist?

i adore these kids, i think if we first let them teach us all their playings, then it would be easier to teach them. perhaps our scolar systems are not indeed the best one for life.

I completely agree ! I have 20 years experience with kids from disturbed families and neighburhood. Sorry for my bad English : it's a foreing language to me.

Wow Michael--looks like they are just kids--typically behaving kids. They look like kids that have no structure. It's obvious you have no experience with kids in this type of environment---it doesn't matter where they are from--kids are kids.

They are kids for crying out loud. You wrote "and not like any other children I've ever seen in the US or China", so do you mean that children in the US and China don't play, have they evolved into becoming robots? I don't mean to post a negative comment, but I'd like for you to get your facts straight and have not half, but full knowledge about what you're talking about. You need to have lived among them for a few years like a true anthropologist to make such a hefty comment.
