@enott93 Ding ding ding! Great answer! This is why I personally believe that having children is not only environmentally and ethically wrong, but spiritually as well. Most(if not all) religions have an underlying goal: liberation of the soul...so, why see it as a good thing to "imprison" an innocent soul to the constraints and limitations of human life? Not to mention pain and since death is a given, you're sentencing them to death just by bringing them into the world.Seems selfish.

@NPB063 I'm more then willing to adjust/step down when a good point is made (even if I don't agree with it). A good example is the population issue, I can't really argue with that one. Another would be valuing a career over a family.

But I will not sit by while people say having kids in a traditional family is oppressive, old fashion, and broken, because the facts CLEARLY state otherwise. That's why I've posted on this video.

@valegorn I'm not criticizing you for your choice. If having kids makes you happy, then go for it. I'm going to echo some of the other commenters here, because this applies to myself as well; I'm not afraid to have kids, I JUST DON'T WANT THEM. I don't want to have kids just like I don't want to be a lawyer, aid worker, engineer ect. To say that I'm/we're afraid of raising children is ignorant in many cases.

@NPB063 Actually you're wrong, I didn't throw the first punch, I responded to the video. I hope I don't have to explain the concept of You Tube to you, but usually the video makes a statement and the comments are for people to, well comment on.

For someone with a PhD you didn't read my comments very well, I'm insulting CFBC people who constantly insult, demean and belittle people who have kids. I hope I don't have to also explain the benefits of posterity to a PhD.

I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology & spouse of 36 yrs holds a PhD in Public Administration. To brand our CFBC as stupid/immature is itself stupid/immature. Valegorn, it is you who threw the first punch with your, "All the other women out there are just afraid, immature & similar to children themselves." Your accusations were challenged & now you are gearing up for a fight & going to shut everyone down. Perhaps your time should be better managed caring for your child instead of fighting.
