Muslims anywhere in the world
perform prayers as part of their daily routine
to be blessed by God.

They observe such practices strictly
during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan or the month of fasting period
is a requirement in Islamic religion
that all Muslim followers must observe.
They refrain from drinking or eating food
or swallowing any down in the stomach
from brink of dawn until sunset. This is an example of a Muslim
who resides around the Ya Mea mosque
in Thaling Chan community of Phuket City area.
The month of Ramadan is a time
when everyone practices their patience,
abstains from all bad behavior,
& keeps away from factors
which may lead them
to act against Gods commandment.

Being patient to abstain from food,
& abstaining from quarrelling with others,
is a tolerance, even when others
are tempted to argue, we cannot.

Stay within the religious practices.
Read the Koran, admire God.
Its a holy month for Islamic communities.
Muslims, both males and females,
begin to observe the fasting practice
after they are mature
& they keep practicing for all their lives.
There are people who are exempted from fasting,
such as those who have severe health problems, elderly, pregnant women, women during period
or women breast feeding.

They do not need to practice.
They can make charity by donating food
to the poor or needy once a day.

Just like growing plants:
1 seed may give 7 products.
1 product has 100 seeds.
It means that if we donate 1 baht, we get 700 baht.
God gives more than that we expect.
At the end of the fasting period each day,
observant Muslims would gather at a mosque,
to have an Iftar meal together
before performing prayers.

Muslims usually consume dates
after breaking the fasting,
following the fasting break of Muhammad.
Dates are a source of high sugar.
They help relieve the fatigue from lack of energy.
Sugar from dates quickly restore energy to bodies.

Ramadan signifies that people
can still live without food.
Now we learn to fast and sacrifice.
One month is OK
as it also means we clear up our stomach.

Muslims believe that Ramadan is a holy month
& also a month of mercy & good deeds.
The heaven gate is opened,
the gate of hell is shut
and those monsters are chained.

It is a holy month. People who do good deeds
in this month are believed to obtain
many acts of merit.
The practice in life of Muslims
in only 1 month out of 1 year
is a good example for us
to take careful steps in life.
And that we all should do good deeds
& respect religious leaders who we have faith in.
