  • question: did you just post your video to youtube, or did you convert it to a different file type before uploading?

  • I did some basic editing in windows movie maker then uploaded the resulting WMV.

  • btw, i've posted a video direct from the camera on my blog if anyone's interested.

  • excellent review. mine is arriving tomorrow.

question - can you increase the iso setting to improve video in the low light places? Thanks in advance.

  • don't think so, it automatically does what it needs to do to maintain 30fps

  • Thanks for the great review - I was planning to buy one this week!

Couple of questions please: you mentioned hopping onto eBay to grab an SDHC card & extra batteries, but they all seem to be shipped from overseas. Is there a particular seller you know is good on eBay that ships their stuff from overseas?

Also, are the generic brands of SDHC cards ok to go with, or should I be getting something like Sandisk?

  • heaps of good flash memory sellers on ebay (i tried to post a link to some here but alas youtube doesn't allow urls).

Just check out for a good seller rating

  • I just bought a tx1 a few months ago while I was visiting London and I was wondering why it always says busy after 12 seconds of recording. I have an 8 gb memory card and I was wondering what should i do to get a longer video.

  • The Canon TX1 is just perfect. It is all I want in a camera. I waited a long time for a hybrid camera/camcorder that recorded to SD and that was small enough to take everywhere. The outdoor HD video is amazing. The outdoor still pics are amazing. The indoor still pics are fine if one adjusts the exposure, butindoor video does need light or it will be grainy. Otherwise, this camera is beautiful. I gave away two camcorders and one still camera after I bought the TX1I take it everywhere with me

  • I have a TX1 too and I thought it was the best camera ever - until the focus function began to die. Apparently this is a common problem with this camera. One small criticism of your video: you shot it in widescreen, and yet you've is a shrunken image with a black border around it. That's a waste of good pixels. It should look like this:

    watch?v=rOcV0qnO3nI&fmt=18

  • can i records video with the lcd screen off? i mean not open

  • the A-Data 16GB SDHC card works great as

    well on the Canon TX1

  • Low light is no probs in Manual Mode with Exposure Compensation. With batteries you can get 1500mAh batteries vs stock 760mAh.

I found the real sore point of this Hybrid was the focusing while using the zoom. Plus I'm having to send mine back because of what seems to be a dead/stuck pixel in the CCD.

  • Hey, delic8genius. I just got my TX1. I've noticed when recording videos in quiet rooms (and I mean DEAD silence), on playback I can hear the camera's Auto Focus working. This happens when the audio setting is left on "Auto". The zoom motor gets picked up too.

If I use the manual audio setting & turn it to about 3/4, the ambient noise isn't so apparent, thus I don't hear the AF as much. How about yours??
