I bought a car and kids died as a result? wtf? Talk about fear-mongering. "If you buy a car children will die!"

@KrunchyJD I like this comment. I know that in my town we have the worst type of layout of streets and roads. It's completely ridiculus. There are whole highways that don't get used in one part and there is a merger consisting of 6 lanes 1 way that have to merge into 3. wtf??

@TriggDev There is just so much wrong with the way our cars are built and operate. I wish the batteries for electric cars were condensed so you would be able to pull in to get one that was already charged and ready to go. That probably won't happen until we find a new source of energy all together. It reminds me of the computer and how it was this huge machine way back when. One company has created a transmitter type of charger but you have to be within range. It still takes hours to charge.

@TriggDev Also, how many people do you know who have a 5 passenger car and only use 1 seat in their daily routines.

@TriggDev Your comment to jpsousa4 doesn't make any sense apart from the extra time. Even that depends on where you live and what lifestyle you have. A monthly bus pass costs only 40.00 per month here in florida. 40 x 12months= 480.00 for 1 year . Most people don't make 20/hr. Think about all those students who make only 4.00/hr plus tips! Anyways, a lopsided approach to America's problems will only result in more problems. There has to be synergy!!!

@KrunchyJD Nope say hi to LFTR's The future of energy efficient safe and clean.

Wouldn't it be nice if all people were dead, then no one could be hurt.

@TriggDev You're forgetting about the lost time it takes to travel the bus. If 30 people who take the bus lose 7 hours a week (1/2 hour lost each way per day compared to a car) and they make 20/hr then the additional cost is $215,000 a year for those 30 people, so a bus costs those 30 people 15,000 more than cars -- which is why people buy cars today: To save time, make a little more money, or be that much less hassled on the bus.
-
@Pernaetova21 Let's say a bus that fits 30 people costs $100,000.
And a cheap new small car costs about $10,000 to $15,000. You do the math.

This song is very narrow sighted.
hmm... how often do you use your own personal car to move heavy equipment? chances are, you mainly just use it to commute. if you had a better alternative, like mass transit or biking, then you wouldn't need a personal vehicle so much.
This song is about re-thinking the use of your own private car and the reasons to re-consider that. I just took the idea of reducing car use to an extreme to help illustrate how the world might be better with fewer cars. Don't take it 100% literally.
