Wilhelm Brandt's composition was performed by Mr. Balázs Nemes (trumpet) and Mr. Zsolt Farkas (piano) at a tribute concert to celebrate the 70th birthday of Ms. Éva Nagyiván, the beloved trumpet teacher of generations in Hungary. She had been taught at music schools and music high schools (secondary schools) in the cities of Veszprém and Budapest, and she was the assisstant professor of trumpet at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Teachers' Training College in Győr for a decade. She is the co-writer of a four volume trumpet tutor (Varasdy−Nagyiván−Sztán: Trombitaiskola) which serves as the basis of the elementary curriculum of trumpet teaching not only in Hungary, but the first two books of it in France as well. About the performers: Mr. Balázs Nemes began trumpet playing under the direction of Ms. Éva Nagyiván in Budapest 1987 aged 11. Later he attended the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music Budapest (class of Mr. Attila Simon), Conservatoire National de Région Paris (class of Guy Touvron), Franz Liszt Academy of Music (class of Mr. Frigyes Varasdy) in Budapest, Hungary and the Julliard School (Mark Gould and Raymond Mase) in New York. In 1999 he was appointed to the principal trumpet of the Sinfonieorchester Basel. In 2000 he left for the same post at the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra (hr-Sinfonieorchester). Later he worked at the MET in New York, where he replaced the retired Mark Gould as principal trumpet and he was among the five on trial in Chicago Symphony (after Adolph Herseth's retirement and before Chris Martin's appointment) working for five weeks in the wold's most famous brass section. After the USA period he preferred to return to Frankfurt. Mr. Zsolt Farkas graduated with BA degree in classical music performance and piano teaching from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Teachers' Training College Győr, and with MA degree in classical music performance from the Hochschule für Musik München. After finishing his studies he partly returned to the Győr College, which had changed its dependencies and status meanwhile as parted from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Budapest and integrated to the local Széchenyi College Győr in 1996. (Four years later the college advanced to university status.) Mr. Farkas teaches piano play and works as the trumpet class' répétiteur (piano accompaniment) of the Institute of Musical Arts of Széchenyi University Győr. The concert was held on 19th of June 2010 at the University Concert Hall of Széchenyi University Tibor Varga Institute of Musical Arts (formerly Synagogue) in Győr, Hungary.
