detained and lectured by the police for legally carrying a gun

SINCE THE "INCIDENT" AT THE LIBRARY,THE LIBRARY NOW HAS A BIG NO GUNS SIGN OUT FRONT..SO,I GUESS IM RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT..LOL) yes folks,i was at the library 2 days ago checking out some dvd's and books like i do once or twice every couple weeks for years at the same library.well,i get my stuff,check out and leave..as im walking out the door,2 or 3 police officers are going in to the library,so i hold the door open for them..they circle around and grab my arms from behind and one of them grabs my legal holstered gun in my waistband..i ask "what are you doing? they started yelling at me,telling me they were going to put me in jail for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit..until i reminded them of the fact that it was perfectly legal to carry it that way,call your own desk sergeant and ask him.so then,they were pissed at that,so this lady cop comes up and says that she's going to arrest me for "causing a panic"..i said,what causing a panic?..i got my books,checked out and then i left,no panic..so then they all looked in their little portable law books they carry around with them. huddled together for a few minutes and then gave me my gun and bullets back and let me leave..sheesh... but the lady cop is the one who had the attitude..she was arguing that it would cause more mayhem if there was a shooter and then i started shooting the shooter..yeah,i said,but the guy would be dead and people might be saved.,she didnt want to hear it..she accused me twice of carying it concealed..i told her,no its not..yes it is..no,its not..yes it is..how is it concealed if someone saw it and called the cops?,i asked..then i thought she was gonna put handcuffs on me and the other cop came over and showed her the law book and thats when they gave me the pre-requisite talking down-to about someone could take that and use it against me and "in this post 9/11 world,it makes people nervous" routine..and let me go..

@RetSquid ya know..i dont know..lol..ill have to look it up..probably not, because its a county building and i thought the only places i couldnt carry are private property places and courthouses..hmm

The officer definitely needs retraining... I wonder if she was trained by the same people training the Seattle PD?  It is starting to sound like the whole police force in Washington state needs a training refresher course!

@Bombero43able -What are you talking about? Malls are privately owned here in Washington and most other places! Have you read the state law on carrying? It sounds like you know less than the uneducated officer that stopped him leaving the library! If you have a CPL you can even carry in sports stadiums and drop/pickup your kids from school as long as you do not go into the school. If I am not mistaken libraries are not federal. Do some research before you post! Thanks,
