A roadblock from some village outside of Salina Cruz kept us waiting for five hours on the return trip to Huatulco. It was all very peaceful. The trees I'd heard about turned out to be large branches. Eventually, after some negotiations with representatives of the military, they let us go through in groups of 20 every 15 minutes just like real hostages. I still don't know what it was all about.
