Algonquin College's International Finance and Administration Professional (IFAP) Pilot Program hosted its first graduation and awards celebration on Friday, November 26, 2010. Thirty new Canadians who immigrated to Canada with university degrees and work experience in the financial sector found themselves unemployed and enrolled in the IFAP program to get occupational-specific Canadian workplace skills.
The IFAP program helps new Canadians overcome multiple barriers to employment such as:
• Workplace readiness
• Language difficulties
• Cultural Awareness
• Accreditation assessment
• Canadian work experience
