More video of the RTK Autosteer system in wheat harvest.operating with a Shelbourne Stripper Header. We had to leave a bit more overlap this year due to down wheat leaning in all different directions. Customer was still able to cover more acres with less fatigue than steering manually.

  • how dose that header work?

  • The header works by using a spinning drum which has fingers spaced at a distance just right to pluck the head off the wheat stalk. It increases efficiency by leaving the stalk in the field and only taking the head and grain. You have a little more loss at the head and a lot more material left standing int he field, but you burn less fuel per bushel harvested. This harvester was using it at this location because they wanted to bale the wheat straw for dairy bedding.
