This is a video to show what i have done with my stb gelding so far, he has now been worked 4 & a half months under saddle. Hes improved soooooooooooo much since those other vids of him. The canter is established and he can even do walk to canter (but i didnt get this videod :-( ) I will do some more videos in the near future, enjoy! x

Hi, I have a 13 year old 16.2 standie mare. We have just established a decent trot that is balanced and steady. We are trying the canter but she just won't break into one. I do plenty on ground work and natural horsemanship with her but I would just like to know if you have any tips that could help me???

how did you get his canter so nice and well balanced? I have a mare standardbred and we are still establishing the balance and i woud love to know if there's any tricks you can give me??

I didnt do anything specific with him. I did lots of ground work with him, lunging. I pretty much taught him on the ground before under saddle. I used to lunge him with side reins (not a huge fan of those) and a bungee (not at the same time) And also it does time, doesnt happen over night. Good luck with your standie!
