http://www.TM.org Taste of pudding is in eating: The test of enlightenment - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

1. (Dr. Hagelin:) Throughout the ages-and certainly in today's world-there are always people who claim to
be enlightened-who claim to speak the Truth. How does an unenlightened person like myself know when
another person is, in fact, enlightened-and is therefore speaking a truth worth following?

2. Maharishi: There is no way anyone without experiencing the reality to judge whether another man is
saying right or wrong. The taste of pudding is in eating.
3. In that field, there is no experiencer, experienced and process of experiencing. It's a thing that is devoid
of any duality.

4. Transcendental Meditation is a process that takes the conscious mind in sequence to a field where there is
no more space and time boundaries. Without that experience, there is no way to know the truth of what
someone says about the reality.

5. In one dive of Transcendental Meditation, one has a taste of it.

6. When a man has lived a life of suffering without any experience of transcending or any peek into that
reality, when he is 70 years old, people call him wise, but he knows that he doesn't know. All these aged
people, presidents and prime ministers, can talk better than others, but they haven't had any experience of the
infinite.

7. The skill in administration is in arriving at the door from where Natural Law obeys your command.

8. The name of religion won't help. It's the experience of religious life, which is the light of God, which will
help you. Start Transcendental Meditation. Don't waste your life in the name of religion or in the name of
God.
