This video is for installations where the Maxxlink MLX-100 is used to provide output to multiple amplifiers in a non linked application. Many people design their systems with 1 amplifier per sub or per multiple subwoofers. The Maxxlink can provide equal signal out to multiple amps with the addition of shaping controls and 9V line driver.

The second part of this video shows how you can provide signal to amplifiers via the Slave Input RCA connection on Linkable amplifiers and bypassing the settings on the amps while using the Maxxlink to control everything. This is the fastest and easiest approach.

  • Mije, what´s the best connection in your opinion??? the last one on this video where the maxxlink conrols everything or the one on the other video where you strapped the amplifier using the jumper between the - of the brutus?

  • @twingo16V If you are linking a pair of amplifiers with the Maxxlink, you will always have a jumper from amp 1 negative speaker terminal to amp 2 negative speaker terminal. Whether you link or run independently is based on your impedance. What subs and amps are you working with?

  • @MaxxsonicsUSAInc oh ok, just wanted to know the best way and more effective to strapp them, i have 2 hifonics 2610D like the video and the maxxlink, i´m actually considering not using the maxxlink and save it to my other car, is there any big difference between linking the brutus by theirself than strapping them with the maxxlink??? i have about 1.5v coming from the head unit...

  • @twingo16V In tests over the years using a Termlab meter, on average guys saw .2-.5dB gain when using the Maxxlink to strap their amps.

  • @MaxxsonicsUSAInc Nice to know that mike, and last question would be using the boost, in my case wich is the same than the video, would be better using the boost on the amplifier or the boost on the maxxlink?

  • @twingo16V It is better to use the boost on the amplifier so that the amount is even for the multiple amps. If you use the Bass EQ on each individual amp you run the risk of setting them differently.

  • @txmaxt Correct, you can not link 2 channel amplifiers.

  • i just need to be clear... the maxxlink wont

work with 2 non strappable dual mono block amps?

  • The epicenter allows for enhancement of frequencies in small bands. You can still use the Epicenter, but prior to the Maxxlink.

  • You can't use the positive and negative outputs to a single mono amp because they are opposite phase, NOT left and right. The opposite phases cancel out and provide no output and potential damage to your Maxxlink, Amp and sub. I explain the adjustments in Tutorial 1 as indicated. This tutorial was showing wiring of non linkable amps and then using 2 amps in slave with no adjustments required.
