SpiritFilledJohn, my goal is not contention, but correction. I'm disappointed that you avoided addressing the fact that many beloved hymns are based on the "Devil's music". I do not limit the power of a "Holy, holy, holy" God to use various music styles for his glory, even if one thinks a particular musical style first nabbed by the Devil suddenly creates a binding contract made in Hell.
Sadly, your confusion between essential doctrines and opinion are a distraction that will confuse many.

I used to listen to rap, rock, etc. I still have some rap songs by Lecrae which the LORD used to speak into my life, bless His name.

I just cant imagine Jesus listening to this and the servant is not above His Master.

I believe William Booth would agree with me. William Booth said - "Why should the devil have all the best music?!" And I agree!! Its just when I see Christian hardcore and club music it grieves my spirit.

You see where i'm coming from?

God bless you bro/sis.

Why apologize? I don't think KJ would trade places with Eminem for a minute. Inner peace, contentment and balance are priceless.

I think you're confused. We are called to be separate where it matters, SpiritFilledJohn.

Martin Luther set his hymn "A Mighty Fortress" to a common beer hall tune. William Booth's "Bless His Name, He set me free" is sung over the music "Champagne Charlie is My Name". "Here's to Good Old Whiskey" became "Storm the Forts of Darkness". Should we condemn Luther, or the Salvation Army?

Be careful, SpiritFilledJohn, Jesus had nothing good to say about Pharisees.

God bless you mate. I do not want to get into srtife and contention.

I am not confused - the devil is the author of confusion. God is peace.

Remember that the Holy Spirit is a HOLY Spirit. Christian rock music, etc. is an offense to God's name. Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts.

As I said I dont want to get into contention - have a blessed day.

SpiritFilledJohn, the Devil's greatest asset is a distracted Christian who emphasizes the effects of salvation (typically & arrogantly based on his own personal convictions) thereby diminishing the Cause, and subsequently adding to a superficial spirituality based on behavior. So I'll shoot: What about the "rock" style of music is offensive to Scripture?

Listen to this song and watch the video again and ask yourself is this really Christlike?

Does it exalt Christ and His glorious name or does it exalt the name of KJ52?

God bless you.

"May I know Him in the power of His ressurection, in the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death."
