Sad to say, I think he failed here. I love Liam and the Pixies, but this neither sounds like the Pixies nor is it a decent song. I mean, he literally uses exact turns of phrase from pixies songs here, and did I hear a keyboard or something in the background? Maybe it's a guitar distortion, but it doesn't sound like a guitar distortion I've ever heard in a Pixies song. Meh.
Still love his other stuff though.
