  • Salvem o Robotarium! Está quase por completo vandalizado! É uma vergonha para a cidade e para o país que um projecto destes esteja ao abandono, com vidros partidos e os robots parados, sem vida!

Save thr Robotarium! It is almost completely vandalized! It is a shame for the city and for the country that a project like this lays abandoned, with broken glasses and the robots freezed, without life!

  • robOtarios

  • That's really something.

  • I understand your point but, it reveals some ignorance about the work above, that will be overtrown with some research. About the stimulus...one of the "robots", for example, works like a flower that only moves (opens) with the sun shining on is surface. the robots can actually avoyd running over into each other by artificial "eyes". But yes, its a work in progress, Leonel Moura have a very ambicious project, you should check it out if your interested.

  • I see... but I have to disagree in one point only: Absolute randomness isn't = to "acting natural".

I guess the robots would look more like actual creatures if they responded to certain stimulus... like light, sounds or the presence of people.

I mean, it's great that they act independently and not controlled, but it still lacks something to look like real creatures.

But I know it would require lots more work and money to create something more real, so interesting concept nonetheless...

  • the propose is to be random. the robots should be absolutly free to do whatever they want, not to be controled. Leonel Moura try to creat leaving machines that "act" like any other "natural" creatures or "new beings" if you want

  • aww the little robots look cute^-^

  • Good Work!!!

  • Interesting concept. Needs some upgrade to look less random though.
