Part 2 of my demo of the Musicomlab EFX MKII effect pedal switching system and MIDI controller. This is a very user-friendly pedal switching system that allows you to plug pedals into any of its 8 loops and save presets of any combination of these loops in addition to patches on MIDI controllable devices like the Eventide factor pedals or rackmount effects like the Boss VF-1. The bass used for the demo is an active Elrick six-string singlecut bass.

  • Hey Brayn, I just bought one unit and i am having hard time to erase the data the former user had on it. Can you help me how can i erase the data?

  • @eddbacellar Hi- it's actually right on page 12 of the manual under "Initial Default Setting". Apply power while holding the MODE and PS-1 switches down. The display will show "FAC" The L1~L8 LEDs will turn on, at which point the two switches can be released. When the initial default setting is successful, the EFX Mk II Audio Controller will automatically restart.

  • Hey Bryan, could you tell me... when you change the presets, do you get any audio drop-out at all, or a lag/latency of some kind? I couldn't really tell from your demo, because you stopped playing when you flicked the presets. This dropout issue that other pedals have, it's a big issue for me, so I want to get something that doesn't have it.

  • There's no audio drop-out when switching between pedals. There is a slight drop out when switching between MIDI patches on my VF-1, but this is due to the VF-1 (and many other rack effects), not the Musicomlab.

  • Hey Bryan, I had a question about this unit - you can see below I said I'd get one, but I never did! I'm curious...

What happens if you enter "instant access mode" and turn on some loops, and then exit the mode and go back to preset mode. Does it revert to the preset settings, or do the loops stay on?

  • Awesome, cheers dude. Think I'm gonna get one!

  • Really nice switcher - that thing does it all and it's so small! I'm looking into it right now. Thanks for the demos.
