This is the hardest mission in FFXIII besides 54 and 51. Due to his massive HP, Poison is very deadly and you must inflict it ASAP. I pick Lighting mainly for her Poison while Vanille dispell and other debuff.

Sen/Sen/Sen is essential to counter his deadly attack [Wicked Whirl], place it in the middle for easy access. He gets much stronger as his HP goes down. Com/Med/Sen is useless early but it saved my @$$ at the end.
I don't like Sab/Sab/Sab because Vanille is very effective with the debuffing when equip with her debuffing staff, so Fang should be free up to do her insane damage. I don't like Med/Med/Med setup either cuz Vanille can out heal the boss dmg easily in Com/Med/Sen setup.

Accessory: I have massive Damage Reduction build with everyone sitting around 40-50% both physical and magical. I have no info about his attack being magical or physical based so I choose to have both. I got so lucky at one point Vanille HP down to 56.
3x [Imperial Guad or Royal Guard] for each character + 1 extra slot.

This is a very long fight due to his immunity and healing. Try to attack the boss as much as you can, healing/buffing when he goes to his shield mode. Gold Watch makes it much easier to get 5★.

This is actually not that hard of a mission to 5 star lol.

Follow everything the description says except:

1. Equip your weakest weapons on all characters.

2. Make poison your only form of attack, nothing else.

3. After he's poisoned, switch to SEN/SEN/SEN and stay on it til he's blocking.

4. When he's blocking, switch to SYN/MED/SYN.

5. Repeat 2-5.

The only thing you need to make sure is to have him poisoned ASAP after he's out of block mode.

@enikyne Lightning is 5 along with fang but Vanille is only 3 i think. I finially manage too beat it (after 30 tries lol) and still got only 4 stars... sigh.. it gets kind of hard when the monster comes right out of her shell and for a few seconds does that poison breath then goes into that super move. I was like what?? I just had all my buffs up and now im almost dead with 2 buffs on lmfao"

@DeniseFarron what u need is a good medic(hope IMO)/ fang for butt kicking, buff, and debuff/ and lightning's poison debuff and butt kickin :) it took me 7 tries T_T i always died when his health would be under 100,000.

the attack at 8:50 can some tell me how does his sentinel team or lightning for that matter manages to stay alive even after all those attacks.. i no sentinel reduces the attack to a real miniimum but her HP is already superlow. its like he only attacked her twice. hahaha idk i must be doing something wrong kauze even when my HP is red and the monster attacks with that. even my sentinel team cant survive it. lol XD

@DeniseFarron huh? synergist role which is what i think you are talking about just gives buffs...sabatour is for debuffs which you need for poison and slow and etc etc. and by time you get to this boss you will have that role for some if not all your characters.
