Cagney's sure footed,toe tapping,face slapping electricality makes 80% of actors seem pedestrian in comparison. Notice also how he does not date. the screen is bereft in his absence.

He is the only actor that when I catch one of his movies on, I HAVE to watch -- no matter how good or bad the picture. He just has a ridiculous amount of presence. There are many great legends, but when it comes to the "it" factor, Jimmy was tops.

Would love to see Cagney's entire acceptance speech, and so would millions of others, I suspect. You have the only excerpts of it on YouTube. It is an eloquent and poignant speech. Also, other highlights from the show, like Frank Gorshin's song and dance tribute with Kirk Douglas and George Segal. I saw it when I was a kid and haven't been able to find it anywhere. If I had a copy and the technology I'd do it myself. You'd be doing a great public service. Thanks.

I wish I still had the VHS tape, But sadly I lost it several years ago. I made these 2 clips when "Snazzi" was the new video capturing wonder, That's why the quality is so poor. I used Snazzi with an old Compaq 420MB computer long before Pentium came out. I backed up that old hard drive onto CD about 8 years ago and that's why I still have these 2 clips. If that old VHS ever turns up I'll post more But it isn't likely.
