Mugen has ties to Honda but is not owned by them. If you do some actual research Honda's actual in-house tuning division is HFP (Honda Factory Performance).

@F3RSCF1908 The man who started the company was the son of Soichiro Honda, but Mugen is not owned by Honda.
From the Mugen Wikipedia page:
"Despite the family connections, however, Mugen is not, and has never been, owned by Honda."
And I was just using AMG as an example of an in-house tuner. I wasn't comparing them to Mugen.
