I'm gonna get a cardi and a pembroke.

Well Cardigan welsh corgies may not be very popular here but my friend breeds cardigan here and they are always sold before the breed is born here in Canada so they are more popular here not in any danger of dying out here for sure

They are becoming more and more popular in the Unites States. I'm surprised they aren't as popular elsewhere. I have two and one is a fabulous agility dog. The other one outperformed my Pemmie and my agility Cardi on sheep.
I agree with MakiMaki, you don't want them to be "popular", but you don't want them to fall off the radar either.

Even here in Aus they are sparce and it is sad really because they have such a great nature. I own two Cardigans and show them.

I hope Cardis stay a little under the radar. I'd hate to see the breed go downhill like German shepherds, labs, and other popular breeds have.

That's really interesting. I never knew there was a saying for it or a group of people trying to help :)
What does vulnerable breeds mean?

It means that there are very few born these days, so they are in danger of extinction. Usually the reason that there are few born is that they have gone 'out of fashion' and been forgotten by the dog buying public. The dogs I keep are Dandie Dinmont Terriers. They make great house pets, good with children, don't moult everywhere, are faithful and intelligent, and (for terriers) are very calm tempered. But last year there were only 119 born and registered in the UK (their native land).
