I plan on making a full set of tuts from heightmap all the way to making your maps accessible to others in-game.

This is my first time making tutorials, so I know these are far from professional. I just hope that maybe these will help those who are wanting to make maps and still have trouble with just the text tutorials.

Maybe getting a new comp soon, and hopefully better vid quality.. meh..

The file didn't show up when i went to the map maker, and when i typed in the mask name under World all i saw was black and when i typed in the Map name a error said it couldn't be found. PLEASE and as fast as you CAN!!

For the mask problem...

I'm actually not sure how to solve this, although I'm finding out it seems to be common. Only thing I can suggest is try switching rendering systems under your game options video tab. If that doesn't work, then try posting on the FH forum help section.

ok i did the mask but when i went to map maker on FH it didnt show the file. i saved it the exact way you showed but it still didnt work. do you know if i did something wrong or something i could do to fix this?

:| Guys, lay off the questions for help.

For those who cannot see the map in the little box at the bottom of the "Map" tab, you have to open your terrain mask and height map in the "World" tab, then go back to Map, type in a name and click Save. It should only then appear in the box.

For those who cannot load their terrain mask and map without crashing, I believe this has been fixed. If it still doesn't work, try the FH forums. Don't bombard one person with questions. Thank you.

Now, whenever you fill something with water layers, how do you do it cohesively? Because I stared on a map and filled one of the structures with water to make a pool and had to do layer by layer by layer and there are gaps in between the waters.

I need help, I tried to put my terrain map in, it said it was not found. I put my mask in next (terrain was still not fixed) and it was ALL black. I would like to make a map please.

You could try putting it in exports.
