  • Timeshares are a glorified ponzi scheme. Here is an example: Lets say a popular resort has 400 units in one building at a popular vacation destination. A year has 52 weeks and if each week is being sold for $25000 to consumers, the resort makes 52 * $25000 = $1.3 Million for one unit. For 400 units, the resort just raked in a whopping $520 Million in cash. With maintenance fees of $1000/year, the resort collects $52000 in maintenance fees/unit/year, totaling $20.8Million for 400 units.

  • @iprotectconsumers You have no idea what you are talking about. The 25k they charge can't be 100% profit. DUH. How much did it cost to bring each family in? How much was the gift they received? How many families said no before they got a yes? There are marketing costs, electric bills, coffee, etc. With the numbers you are shooting around it must be a very nice resort. Maybe Hilton or Marriott. They don't sell by the week. They sell points. Now there is a scam.

  • @justcallmeassinine if you tour any resort in mexico theyll give you lets say 300 dollars cash or a free cruise its 75 minutes plus breakfast, you know they give you up to 600 dollars worth of stuff depends where you go you guys only mention the hilton or marriot,in mexico we have alot of resorts thats why we sell more i know about this because im a rookie promoter i get paid for every couple i send to tour my resort if you dont buy it doesnt matter i get paid anyway and you get your shit easy..

  • Oviously none of you know what your talking about, now you want to make money and know what a timeshare is? GO TO FUCKING MEXICO

in mexico like the guy in the movie said we actually pay you to do a presentation sometimes in cash, sometime we give shit away as for how much thye resort make you forgot to mention the gifts the give away, breakfast, activities, promoters pay, liners pay, closers pay so many shit the resort spends on not only of the employees but also to whoever assists the presentation

  • @iprotectconsumers You forgot that the resorts spent 100 million to build the place and they have another outlay of $8-10 million per year for utilities , taxes and maintenance . Their markup is 300% on the project and 100% on the yearly maintenance fees that they collect . That's a big markup , but is about standard for the food and entertainment industry . Bigger offenders: Soft drinks , bottled water and beer . 2 cents of ingredients are sold as high as 250 times that amount .

  • couldn't agree more!

  • This was funny ! IMHO you have to have something wrong with you to buy a timeshare.A ridiculous idea even in the best of times. But if you're in the area or near a sales office and are willing to listen to the spiel for 2 hours, you get a $100 gift card. BUT if you are shy about saying no...don't even go.

  • Someone else on youtube. said about 2/3 of timeshares in florida...or was that usa, are under investigation when it comes to maintenance fees and resales....I dont know....is it a bad thing, are they the ones Winning or are the purchasers of timeshares.....scary
