I've done a bit of MIDI programming for Stantons new DaScratch controller. This came about because my mate has a denon HS5500 which Traktor doesn't support the platter for. So after buying a ScS.3d each, I came up with this idea. Its not available for use with traktor yet as I only have the trial version of Bome, I also haven't done any of the other buttons yet. Thought I'd start with the hardest!!! :)

  • The scratch mode is good and you can map the sensitiviy of the inner and outer section to your prefered level, not tried that feature too much but it does work well.

deejaynesh: thats the setup i use and it works well, i've also got a button setup then when held will change the jog wheel to the playlist browser, so there is no need for a mouse or keyboard. currently building a dedicated box to house it all in with a screen built into the lid

  • I'm working on getting this as a standard feature with everything working, but its slowed down a bit due to commitments. The way I have done it would be independant of the software as its in the presets for DaRouter so would work with anything. Also going to incorporate the Tap button to control the speed it spins. Just got to get back to it now, Thanks for the comments!

  • Theres no sound, its just to demonstrate an effect i've done with the controls

  • i would like to do this but dont know where to start and have u managed to do it wi traktor plz help..................

  • Do the LEDs spin with the tracking of the record? Is the tracking precise enough to be an effective visual aid for turntablism? I'm teaching myself to scratch with my Dascratch :D The multitouch xfader lets me do the crab scratch effortlessly!

  • I recently posted a video of the SCS.3d in Mixxx with the positionally-accurate spinning platter effect with sound, if anyone wants to check it out. Click my channel since I can't post a link here.

  • Uh, where?

  • can you tell me what software you used to program this? is it available to the average jo!? Thanks

  • I got one for 100

  • It is, in the next version of Mixxx.

  • Good work man! If you're interested, we have the spinning platter effect on the SCS.3d in Mixxx as well only with sound. ;) The LEDs are position-accurate so you can use them for lining up juggles too!
