This video is done to illuminate the other, lesser spoken about slavery in America, and to give credit to a true humanitarian Marcus Mosiah Garvey who was a black leader of the UNIA (Universal Negro Improvement Association) and African Communities League.

Here is some transcript from the video:

White on black racism, and the black civil rights movement is not the only racist time of the US history.
There is a lesser known, but equally as tragic part of American history. Which is white slavery.
For millions of Irish, Scottish and Welsh immigrants who were being oppressed and enslaved by england. They ventured to the promise land to seek refuge from their oppressers in their motherlands.

When they got to the US, a similar group of oppressors held these already oppressed and broken people under their thumbs in the Americas as well.
These immigrants worked as endentured servants, or were not allowed to work at all.
There were times in American history where black slaves had more freedom than these white slaves.

During a Marcus Garvey parade in the 1920's, an Irish woman is quoted as saying. "And to think, that the negro will receive their liberty before the Irish".

These Celtic people were oppressed and enslaved for well over 2 centuries.

So when people think of slavery, and current policies like Affirmative Action.
Lets not forget that the negro race was not the only race of people, brutally oppressed and enslaved.

Marcus Garvey was quite a genius in his approach to racial diversity.
Garvey sent letters of support to the Irish Republican Army (IRA), and also met with and invited leaders of the Klu Klux Klan to speak at his rallies.
Marcus Garvey believed in true racial diversity, unlike what we have today where only non-white races are allowed to have racial pride.

Marcus is a true humanitarian and someone that all of those who truly believe in racial diversity can respect and learn from.

  • Irish people had more rights then the American Indians ! But as I've noticed Irish people always make out that they were more oppressed than black people who suffered 1400 years of slavery from the arabs, then 400 years from the British. Black people suffered RACISM, Irish people suffered PREJUDICE because they were oppressed by other white people. Racism and Prejudice are not the same thing. Irish people had a president, but blacks still haven't had one. Obama is Mix race.

  • @truthhitmanisback You don't think Irish, Welsh and Scottish weren't slaves before coming to America? Try the Nords, and the Vikings, and then the English who took their land, and forced them to pay taxes that they had not representation for paying (as they had no land). I think you have a one sided view of history. I call that an "Agenda".

  • @utahpirateradio Slavery was practiced by every nation on the planet. But the Atlantic Slave Trade was strictly OWNED and managed by europeans. It also led to the SCRAMBLE FOR AFRICA, Jim Crow, lynchings, and Civil Rights. Why, some of those slave owners in America were irish. Some of the segregationist in America were irish. If that isn't an " Agenda" then I don't know what is. You can't compare the plight of the irish, who have their own land, to black ex slaves who do not.

  • @truthhitmanisback Hey man some of the slave owners that sold the salves to Europeans were in fact 100% African. Yup, Africans enslaved their own people to make a buck off whitey.

  • @truthhitmanisback Very few Irish slave owners `. They only started emigrating to the new world during the famine in 1845. How rich do you suppose they were at that time. Prior to that Oliver Cromwell sent tens of thousands of people to the West Indies as slaves in the 16th century. If you have a surname like Kelly or Sweeney chances are thats not a slave masters surname.

  • @truthhitmanisback Slave owners were Scots-Irish or Ulster-Scots. Big difference, thats like not differentiating between white S.Africans and black S.Africans. First slaves in the new world were Irish or poor Britons, their skin couldnt takes the strong sun so they kept dying. They were eventually replaced by black slaves. Irish people didnt always have their own land. The Irish state wont be 100 years old until 2022.

  • @utahpirateradio That's not what I seem to think at all. I KNOW that african slavery was apart of global slavery that was practiced since the times of the Sumerians, down to the Romans. Either way it was wrong. But what I'm talking about is Chattle slavery which was invented by europeans. Fact. What I'm talking about is the fact that some black people have Irish surnames because of their Irish slave masters. How many Irish have African names ? Plus Irish are quick to say " black bastard."

  • @truthhitmanisback so you seem to think that just because Europeans were involved in slave trade and bullied African chiefs to give them slaves, that it excuses the African tribes that had been taking slaves for thousands of years before the Europeans got there? The Africans were already taking slaves before this so-called bullying. Listen slavery is wrong. I never attempted to justify slavery. However, you seem to be justifying the Africans who took slaves and sold them to the Europeans.

  • @buttedheads STILL, the africans who sold africans did it under the same principle that everyone else was doing it on a global level. But the Atlantic Slave Trade was strickly the business of europeans selling black people. Those europeans BULLIED, and THREATEND the african chiefs with guns to get more slaves. Then some of those Chiefs ended up being slaves themselves. And as I've noticed: white people always find a way to turn it around & blame black people for what europeans are guillty of.

  • @truthhitmanisback Systems of servitude and slavery were common in many parts of Africa, as they were in much of the ancient world. In some African societies, the enslaved people were also indentured servants and fully integrated. When the Atlantic slave trade began, many local slave systems changed and began supplying captives for slave markets outside of Africa.

  • @truthhitmanisback I don't care about your hatred, or your agenda. You are implying Im trying to excuse slavery? I hate slavery, my people were enslaved too! But it doesn't excuse the black slave owners in Africa either.

  • @utahpirateradio The africans who sold africans were doing it under the old regime of slavery that was global. But the Atlantic Slave Trade was completely OWNED by europeans. There has been nothing like it. And it doesn't EXCUSE the SCRAMBLE FOR AFRICA, JIM CROW, LYNCHING and BURNING black flesh. It doesn't EXCUSE the irish who sold black people. The irish were liberated before black people. They had JFK. Black people have never had a president. There is no comparison what so ever. NONE.
