1978 MU VS. NU Game Highlights

Highlights of the epic 1978 game in Lincoln. Rick Berns had a terrific game for the Cornhuskers, but he was matched by a deep, talented backfield for Mizzou that included future NFL backs James Wilder, Earl Gant and Gerry Ellis. QB Phil Bradley had a big game running and throwing the ball to TE Kellen Winslow and WR Leo Lewis.

2008 marks the 30th anniversary of this classic game. Can Mizzou finally get another in Lincoln?

Amazing highlights, Nebraska ran two offensive plays one was an interception the other they were sacked and they still somehow managed to score 31 points.

I have the entire game. Rick Berns was amazing. In case you weren't able to figure it out, these are highlights from a Mizzou perspective. You want NU highlights, I'm sure there are some of those to be found elsewhere.

That old gold looks so much better than the sickly canary yellow shade the Tigers

wear these days. The official colors are still old gold and black, aren't they, so why

does the football team only wear it on their helmet? Did Pinkel allow the players to

choose the shade?

I was 18; one of the greatest Mizzou games ever. Awesome talent on that team. Unfortunately for Nebraska, they got stuck playing OU again in the Orange Bowl, which I thought was a real raw deal for them; not cool.

I was at this game, and I couldn't believe the strength of Wilder, and how he threw our defender down. As well as how good Wilder, Winslow and Bradley were, who later we be in the NFL and MBL. Berns had an awesome game and we had another great team that year. What sucked is we beat Oklahoma the week before and this game caused us to play them again in the bowl. Thx for sharing

That 1978 Mizzou team should have won more games. They were so talented. I like those old uniforms too.
