This video briefly describes the indications and technique of Cultivated Limbal Epithelial Transplantation or CLET in eyes with Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency (LSCD) following Ocular Surface burns. This procedure is the state-of-the art cell-based therapy for corneal blindness in eyes with LSCD. The limbal stem cells obtained from a donor eye are cultured and expanded on human amniotic membrane in the laboratory and then transplanted onto the affected eye after appropriate surgical preparation. CLET restores the corneal surface and vision in eyes blinded by LSCD.
