  • what would happen if you used compound without taping? just fill in with compound

  • @msa1985 If you dn't use tape. The seems will crack in time and you will see crack lines all the way through your paint job. This is caused in new construction because of settling. But it happens in buildings that have been in place for a while that you are just putting an addition on or finishing a basement. That is due to temperature and moister changes as well.

  • True, but this is basically for the do it yourself person. If you're going to do it professionally, you shouldn't be learning how to do it on Youtube.

  • there would be no way to make money finishing sheetrock this way
