A brief discussion of six basic angles of offense you can use when deploying a blade for expedient self-defense. These are, obviously, based on Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), which generally share the first five angles in common when comparing their various numbered angle patterns.

  • Yeah, thanks for your input, genius.

  • Great video. That backhand thrust looks tricky, I'll have to start trying that myself.

  • A) Of course he does, otherwise it wouldn't be a gun fight.

    B) They'd get to draw at the same time. And at 20 paces, that bullet is a lot faster than you even if the gun gets caught in my coat.

    C) Throw enough lead in a general direction and you're bound to hit something.

    D) Again, gun fight, etc, no surprise involved.

I say everything I say for satire sakes, and I loves me some Elmore.

  • Note that Phil is holding a gun in the picture at the beginning.

Yeah, he uses those, too. ;)

  • You're assuming the gunman:

    A) Has a firearm immediately on his person.

    B) Is quicker than the knife wielding attacker. Why does our hypothetical pistolero get to draw first?

    C) Has the skills to successfully shoot under stress.

    D) Is not surprised, jumped from behind, etc.
