Wonderful blending of the two voices. Excellent control by the tenor, the tessitura is not easy to manage in this duet.

It is a pitty that it's in english. An opera is like a book. It should only be heard/read in it's original language. So much gets lost in translation and the phonetics just don't fit.

If you can read Dickens in English, Dumas in French, Tolstoy in Russian, Dante in Italian, Cervantes in Spanish and Goethe in German you should be in the Guinness Book of Records. It may be a pity that theatre audiences dont understand 4, 5 or 6 different languages, but Im afraid they are not so clever as you, and like to understand what is happening and why.

Nice but, why are they performing this famous ITALIAN opera in english?

For the same reason famous English and American films are dubbed into Italian when shown in Italy - audience comprehension. This version was performed in England for an English-speaking audience.
