Greg Scrivin School Teacher

This video helps demonstrate my passion and commitment to teaching. It shows some of the visual resources i have developed for my classroom walls and a couple of the tech aids that I use to enrich the learning experiences of students in my class.

I regularly apply my slogan of "No more Deficit Theorising" to myself - I try not to limit my thinking about the activities that I can dream up for my students. I hardly ever touch those old textbooks at the front - everything is on pdf, flash, powerpoint/excel/word and smart notebook now :-)

The Kagan cooperative learning mats and structures are very powerful and this is definitely an area I plan to keep developing in years to come.

I had Mr Scrivin as my teacher this year for Year 11 maths. I am not very good at maths at all but with Mr Scrivin helping me I learnt so much this year. With Mr Scrivin as my teacher I fell that I have a better chance of passing NCEA maths this year than I would have with any other teacher. Thanks Mr Scrivin for everything :)

My daughter has Mr Scrivin for maths and does not particularly enjoy this subject. However she says "qoute" Mr Scrivin is an awesome teacher who was always willing to help anyone and he has a cool as attitude which made maths fun. This states for me that he is a great asset to the school because it takes a pretty special teacher who is willing to take the time and effoert to engage with ALL his students and ensure that their learning environment is a positive one
