@ixigray The "original" version of this song is One Foot In Front of the Other and was on Saddle Creek 50. Same tune, different instrumentation.

I love Conor very much,but I also think the woman sounds VERY good in the song with him.That doesn't mean he sounds better with a girl in all of his songs,it means that he just wanted to put a girl in ONE of his songs.What is so wrong with that? o.O

@123ElijahGoesPee I love the chick in the track. I think she makes the song.

THIS SONG <33333333

Whether the woman is Emmy Lou Harris, or Miley Cyrus or fucking Eva Braun - it's fine to have the opinion that she's not needed on the song. I ADORE this song, and while I am actually a fan of Harris, I really don't think her voice compliments the song at all. I can't listen to the original because of that, so I prefer this version. Fuck you if you have a problem with that, anyone.

@Tembath29 Ditto!

@Tembath29 I went to that and I completely agree. <3 He was epic.

Conor played this in Manchester tonight and it changed my life.
-
I prefer this version, not because Emmy lou isnt in it, Because Its more conor, He changes the lyrics from "and you may be afraid" to "I know I was afriad" it feels more personal and raw, and that just seems better to me

ok this is the version! like it

@ironnica That woman who 'messes' up the studio version is emmy lou harris. She was singing and making records before you were even posting stupid comments on youtube from your middle school's computer lab. I could care less that conneur o'bearst understands your fucking 'my life as liz' MTV sadness. but nobody cares about your opinions except your parents. so why don't you go and play monopoly with them you little snot.

this is a great version but i disagree that the girl singing it on the album "messes" it up...in fact i wish she was in this version, they sound really good together
