@netjap23 AMERICANS killed more Filipinos during their much longer subjugation and occupation of the country from 1898-1946. Japan wanted a strong Asia for Asians, free of the colonialist West. Look at the two countries that spent the most time under Japanese administration : South Korea and Taiwan-- they're both economic giants now. Perhaps the Philippines fought for the wrong side?

I could only hope that our nations would recognize and learn from this event and realize the effects of foreign affairs. I am just grateful that I came across your message and see that there are Americans out there that has acknowledged their government's wrongdoing.

And as an American, I only wish there was more we could do to help them, not that it will ever clean the blood from our hands.
