the particle thing is a preset effect from particle illusion (but I assume you got it from serious FX) and the invisibility isn't too hard, but it looks decent enough.
Also, try to go for a nicer transition. I don't think that was just an opacity fade, but that's what it looked like.

If you cant find it jsut searh for displace in the effects bar. I think its under Effects -> Distort -> Displacement Map

Okay. First off. The color correction was 100% wrong, dude:P
Second, maybe you should have boosted the details in the displacement a bit and lowered the overall:) Great to see so many folks learning from AK's tutorial:D
