Vagabond Mini Lithium First Review

Our first take on the Vagabond Mini Lithium portable battery system from Paul C. Buff, Inc.

We received three of these units last week, and we were very impressed. Watch the video to see our test results and our first impressions.

These lithium packs have a built in inverter and are intended to power studio lights in the field (away from main AC power).

We played with the super clamp with a brass stud - didn't work well. The threaded hole on the back of the VML is off center, and it allows the device to twist, loosening the thread to the stud. Perhaps you will have better luck, and if you do, please share!

I got mine in today, hoping I get the same performance or at least half of what these guys experienced, with my travelite 750r.

Be careful pulling your plug out of the unit because it can also pull out the plug socket housing if your plug is snug in any way. Best to wiggle it out slowly. And keep an eye on it. Trust me ;)

I never use the clamp. I just hang them on the stand by the strap and have no problems.

@leshaKvaz It does. I use it with a non Bee flash and it works fine.

@leshaKvaz No idea. I have all Alien Bees wall outlets at my house and at every location I shoot at.
