  • @Homebrew58 I totally agree! I used to own a '76 and a '77 in the past (at the same time) and currently own a '67. If the car is breaking down weekly or anywhere near then that tells me the car is not being maintained and is probably being abused. These are simple little cars that are cheap to work on and properly maintained will take you anywhere. My '76 and '77 were my only cars at the time and I drove them everywhere daily. I just picked what color car I felt like driving that day.

  • MG has been purchased by a Chinese company and new models are available in the UK. I have a 1977 and a 1969 that run great. If someone has one that is breaking down every week then that person doesn't know how to maintain a car. They are fun, affordable sports cars.

  • Actually, the issue was at the corporate level. The UK Gov't encouraged a merger as part of their bailout, and British Leyland was merged two large automakers holding well over a dozen makes.... the new corporation was so disorganized that they literally didn't know how much it cost to make the MGB. Labor may have increased the costs, but it's not the principle reason for the company's failure: it's incredibly tough to turn a profit if you don't even know the cost of goods sold.

  • @liamsweeney0 British trade unions but British auto manufacturers out of business, despite massive government cash infusions. Same thing is happening in the US but President Obama hasn't learned the lesson of history.

  • Yeah, I have one. It has not started in a year... or so.

  • Mine literally broke down once a week.

  • These cars are so cool. Why don't they still make them... why!

  • Love my 71' B. I got it when I was 15 and will be able to legally drive it next year (when i'm 25) with its antique plates and insurance. Absolutely classic.

  • I don t miss this car , I drive it every day , MGB-big star.Nice video.
