Jennifer Petkov, Who Taunted Dying Child is Arrested!!

Police in Trenton say Jennifer Petkov was arrested today for 'assault using a dangerous weapon' and 'reckless driving' after she allegedly tried to use her car to run over a neighbor. This is the same woman who had been taunting a dying little girl, Kathleen Edward of Trenton, by posting disturbing photos on Facebook.

On Wednesday, neighborhood resident Tana Boling was on her way to Rebecca Rose's house, the grandmother of Kathleen Edward. As she crossed the street she says Petkov tried to hit her. "Her car was in her driveway. I didn't notice if anyone was inside, it's just there. When I got so far into the street, she came speeding out of her driveway right toward me. If I didn't get out of the way she would have hit me, there is no doubt," says Boling.

Petkov remains in jail at this time, pending a bond of $75,000 or 10% paid for release.

Trenton police also tell Fox 2 that Petkov is currently under a six-month probation for disorderly conduct. The probation period began on July 5, 2010.

Petkov has been in the center of a story that has gripped metro Detroit and the nation, after she posted a photo of Kathleen Edward's face as part of a "skull and crossbone" on her Facebook page. Edward is a 7-year-old-girl who is dying from Huntington's Disease, a rare brain disorder. Petkov also posted a photo of Kathleen's mother Laura Edward, wrappde in the arms of the grim reaper. Laura died last year from the same disease.

Her husband Scott Petkov parked a pick-up truck in front of Rebecca Rose's house, the place where Kathleen lives, that had tombstones and messages of death painted on it. A coffin was placed in the back of the truck.

Since this story first made air on Fox 2 News, thousands of people have responded to support the little girl. Money was raised and Kathleen went on a toy store shopping spree just yesterday.

The Petkovs have apoligized for their actions , removed the Facebok posts, dismantled the coffin and painted over the truck.

An attorney representing Jennifer Petkov, Scott Weinstein, says no charges have been filed against his client for the posts she made on Facebook, and that he expects there will be no charges filed regarding this matter.

@GreenTeenable No hon. The child had a terminal disease and passed away a few days ago. Jennifer and her husband where harassing the little girl's family. The girl's mother also passed away. Jennifer was jailed for trying to run over someone.
