it's a form of health sports.

as the disciples 1st started to train for wushu, their master will tell them wat is the real meaning of training for it.

and you know what!

people who knows wushu will not flash it out to fight with others!

there are ppl trying 2 figure ways of deliverin e skills of those famous routine like yong chun, ba gua zhang, xing yi quan & etc..

i dun fancy wuxia n anime..bluntly it gifs a wrong impression of a real chi martial arts=P

link is ppl display kung fu, to introduce 'em their style or clan, slowly it became martial arts, which being mutated & become flashy..tad is if u understand e real meaning of shi fu & disciple..

haf u ever seen ppl using changquan 2 fight?haha...its nearly impossible..becoz its too flashy...

Display martial arts are often highly ritualized and completely ineffective forms of fighting. Spreading skills has nothing to do with it. You've been exposed to too much wuxia or anime. If you want to conduct a proper discussion, throw that out of the window.

Like I said earlier, martial arts were for killing people. Kung fu started out as a proper martial art, but now a lot of it has mutated into the flashy and completely nonsensical demonstrations so so common today.

i would stand by what u say, but i tot of otherwise too.

yes, it was or 'were', but not in the modern society. correct me if im wrong, in the past ppl display martial arts to attract ppl so that they could join them and spread their skills, but not now...hu in the current society is able to execute and understand the moves of the martial arts?

besides, what u say arent martial arts, but kung fu..theres difference between them =)

You misunderstand.

Martial arts were meant for killing people, pure and simple.

Ritualizing them into an impotent and flashy display form for wooing crowds does nothing to further its improvement.

If any of these people think they are skilled at their chosen 'martial art', I think a bout with most ordinary people would prove otherwise.
