@alabamapianoman Heh, that sounds as if I had written it. People overlook what an amazing voice "Early Elton" had. You're right about his clarity, fluidity, accuracy and strength. The loss of some of the "limberness" and clearness of voice is to be expected with age. But EJ could have MUCH more voice than he has today. He squandered so much voice to cocaine and sheer excessive living. What a waste. BTW, alabamapianoman, I'm a Hoover guy myself.

I thank God I was a kid in the 70's...Elton NEVER disappointed!..People can say what they will now about him, but back then..he was an absolute musical genius.
