Watch me ride a "prancing" horse on the famous LeGallopent carousel made in Belgium in 1995. The ride used to go a whole lot faster during its past NY Worlds Fair & Expo'67 appearances but has been slowed down to quite a crawl now since its restoration last year. So I have to urge my horse on a little more to make up for his slower gait.

  • Hi, I've watched this a few times and I'm fascinated by the type of mechanisms that run this carousel. I'm also an artist, who loves to illustrate and paint carousel horses. I'd like to visit this carousel, and get some photos. Where in Montreal is it located? Just curious.

  • @magicquartz LaRonde (now owned by Six Flags) is the old amusement park leftover from Expo 67 and is located on the East end of St.Helen's Island in the middle of the St.Lawrence River. You can get there by taking the #1 Metro to Papineau station and transferring to the #169 Autobus.

Thanks for the info ^^ . I live in Massachusetts near the Boston area, and not far from the Carousel at nantasket beach. About an hour or so, I think. I'll keep this one on my mind as to Carousels to visit, for future reference.

  • @magicquartz Just send you private message with more information....YouTube doesnt allow links in Comments.

  • why does he keep getting on and getting off the horse!

  • @TheRascalFlattsfan6 I was trying to point my camera properly on the floor and by the time the ride started still didn't get it quite right.

  • Hi ILHR; "Tony here.

I LOVE this one. Looks very much like my Rocky. Check out the head and neck position with the photo I sent to you. What do you think about painting him this color?

  • you are incredibly creepy
