Train surfer Caught suspect to be charged

POLICE are set to lay a charge after a man was filmed train surfing at a Melbourne train station on Friday night.

A 19-year-old man, from East Ringwood in Melbourne, will be charged on summons with riding on part of a carriage not intended for travel.

In a video shot by witnesses, a man, wearing a Hawthorn footy jumper, held onto the back of a train as it travelled between Camberwell and Surrey Hills.

Transit Police located a suspect after several calls were made to Crime Stoppers by people who believed they recognised him.

The suspect's name has not yet been released.

He will be charged on summons in coming days.
