FIRE DRILL!

I'm not mentioning what school this is and dont mention it. I dont want to get into trouble. Anyway, this is the first fire drill of the year. I activated the alarm with the fire drill button. I found out lots of information on the fire alarm system! We dont initiate the drill using a pull station because the panel has a bunch of relays wired to various items in the school. When activated, it will shut down the HVAC and automatically recall the elevator. The panel does have a fire drill button, though. The drill button bypasses all the relays- The one to the HVAC shutdown, the one to the elevator and the one to a zone on the security panel for the dialer. The HVAC will start back up on it's own but I was told that if it's shut down too often, it will wear it out which makes some sense. As for the elevator, it would have to be reset. In other words, it's too much work after the drill to use a pull station. While I was standing outside, I was near some teachers with radios. I could very clearly hear the alarms every time someone goes on to report information. We heard reports from the custodians making sure everyone was out. I heard "Second Floor's good" and "The building's empty" and "Ok let them back in now" and "We got a problem with one of these alarms" (I bet it's the MT in the library that has a bad horn)

@redsoxguy18 Obviously pulling a fire alarm is not, but the "terrorist" part is they are paranoid about something very bad---bomb, school shooting etc... happening to my (now former) school because some insane guy saw a video depicting a school and telling the name and getting a wild idea. I know, it makes no sense, but that's what they told me...

I got to do that once I asked the janitor and he said yes so he said next drill I can and the next drill was in 5 mins so that was a good day

I got to pull a fire alarm for a fire drill once since i was with the principal doing an interview it was the best way to get to pull a fire alarm in your childhood years my school has spectralerts that do code 3 we used to have an MT system that did marchtime but we a new pannel i think it is a Simplex i forget the model but when we had the MT it was a 4009 simplex we now have a simplex 4010

@DVaccarelli1988 one may be the anocceator panel that tells fire fighters what floor a detector is sounding and the other may be the conrol panel that monitors the differnt devices that set off the alarm
