If somone killed your mother

If someone raped and killed your mother and the guy stood before the Judge and said that he was sorry that he did it and he will never do it again and he has done many good things at the local homeless shelter. Should the Judge let him go? Should the Judge say? Well since you have done so many good things and you are sorry and will never do it again I guess I can just let you go?

Keep that in the back of your mind for a few minutes.

God is a perfect Just and Holy God. He is going to Judge all the good and bad things that you do or think.
Lets look at all the bad things. Have you ever told a lie? If so that would make you a liar. All liars are in danger of hell fire.
Have you ever lusted after a woman. Jesus says that if you lust after a woman you have commited Adultry with her in your heart.
If you hate your brother Jesus says you are a murder at heart. Have you ever stolen anything then you are a thief.

On the day of Judgement are you going to be guilty of any of these things I just mentioned. When you stand infront of the Judge
a perfect Holy Judge who can not be in the persence of Sin where is he going to send you? If he does not punish crimes he is then corupt. Would you say that God is corrupt? God is perfectly Just. Should the Judge of the rapist who killed your mother Judge the man on the sum of all that he has done in his life? And say well you did more good that bad so I can let you go? No he can not. He will look at any good the murder and rapist did in his life and say what does that have to do with the rape and murder of that poor women. He will send that man to Jail for the crime that he commited.

No let us say that you are in the court room and you are guilty. None of your good deeds are going to help you will the laws that you have broken. The judge says either you have to pay a fine fo 1 million dollars or you have to Go to Jail. A man that you have never met before runs into the court room and says I love this man so much I will pay his fine. You accept he payment. Now Justice is served and you can go free.

Jesus is that sinless perfect man who died for your sins. He paid your fine but to accept his payment you have to repent and put your trust in Jesus being God and dieing for your sins.

If no one pays your fine you will have to pay yourself and Gods Jaill is hell and it is ethernal.
