I wanted to show my friend what this pedal could do, so I went on YT but didn't find any videos about its trigger in function. So I made one for anyone curious. The DM-2 gets all the glory (still want one) but the DSD-2 has more than its fair share of charm.

The pedal seems to respond to any audio signal with a sharp attack, so it's not just limited to some specialized trigger device. I only used the one trigger pattern from the Drumtraks in the video, but you could program any series of taps into a drum machine or anything similar (I've used a kick pattern in Reason's Redrum, running straight out of a sound card into the Trig.In...you have to crank the level for the DSD-2 to "hear" it though).

  • Awesome demo man, I've been searching for a good looper/delay for a while and I just found the right one! Cool drum machine/gear as well...I like the Drumtrax.

  • @simpsons2170 Thanks for watching!

  • Hey man, thanks for the sweet demo, interesting stuff.

I just wanted to ask, does either the delay or sampler mode repeat indefinitely with the feedback cranked, or is there some trail-off? I wasn't sure what you tweaked during the demo after seeing the settings at the start.

    Many thanks!

  • @doogdoogdoog i think it gets louder and goes nuclear. there's probably some sweet spot in there where it just holds at the level, but as you tweak the feedback knob you'd probably be swinging back and forth between making it louder and making it quieter

  • Also, one more question. Does the pedal remember the trigger you put in or do you have to repeat it every time you turn it on?

  • @OfftheTops you have to feed it the trigger constantly, it doesn't remember anything

  • can you just have the sampler repeating a specific sample to the rythm of an audio trigger ? as opossed to the triggering simply beeing apllied to the echo of each chord

  • @MrSandydillon My thoughts exactly. I never use it as a sampler, but I love warm "cushy" tone it has as an echo.

  • double rainbow ohh my god

  • Great demonstration! I didn't know that the DSD-Pedals can do this. A DSD-2 is quite on top of my BOSS wishlist.

  • doesnt boss' slicer pedal do this kind of thing? Damn redundancy

  • I love my DSD2 A guy gave it to me in 1988 I have never used the trigger But its one of the Best Delays real warm sound
