You just have to do what they say and allegedly if you play the system your life will be fine, but really that isn't true and they know it isn't true, it's just a ruse to make sure that the poor will constantly be oppressed, forcing poor to be slaves to the allegedly "superior" rich. Meanwhile the government makes secret decisions and refuses to help anyone.

I'm an American punk, and the reason I'm angry is because when I go to school (a shitty place because everyone that can afford it is already at private school) half the teachers don't care, all the kids talk about sex and drugs, there's racism, and very subtle class warfare. You aren't good enough if you don't have this or you can't afford that. It's sickening. what a lot of britpunks who criticize american punks saying we have nothing to be angry about dont seem to get... is the fact that were pissed off about how rich the rich minority in america is and how they dont do shit to help make the world a better place. just because our entire country isnt poor doesnt mean our poor is any less poor than say, the british working class of the 80s. just because poverty isnt the biggest issue in america doesnt mean we dont have shit to rebel against.
