  • wushu is overall strenght but depending on the style it will be more leg and waist strenght in the northern styles and more arm shoulder strenght in the southern styles this is however not always true and most of the time leg will be trained harder since they are your roots take wushu if you can but beware there are maney levels of instructors in wushu go study in China look for a welknown teacher in Xian there are some like Zhao Zhang Yun or for traditional MR Bai (he must be quite old now)
  • is wushu actualy for defence? or is it just for show?

  • some part of wushu is for show, some more for self defence, one learns those style that one fancies the most , some styles are more practical than others. c the thruth is not simple ;-)

  • yes the strokes are not accurate and not enough powerfull indeed, this form had to mature and be polished (was learned one month before the demonstration only) :-)

  • wushu is mainly lower body strength; mainly b/c thats where the center of gravity required in wushu is gathered

  • train with the japans national coach or some other contries coach, even former coaches are awesome but their stuff might be a bit old..... im with singapores former coach

  • io heard Wushu is mostly upper body strength...anyone know if thats true at all? i was talking to my buddy whos been in martial arts for 13 years and he said Wushu would be best for me bcause of that but before i really get into any one martial art i figure ill ask a couple questions ;P

  • Thats because koreans made taekwondo and chinese made wushu duh..

  • No kidding, I hope to be that skilled one day. I have only beung learning Kungfu a week ago. I'm still learning the basic moves so as far as i know i havent learned any forms yet. I dont know what my instructor has in store for me, but personally i do hope to learn wushu.
